Kayden Phoenix - Creator of Latina Superheroes

Portrait of a woman with long black hair and soft expression.

From Boyle Heights to the Comic Multiverse.

Kayden Phoenix, a Chicana writer and director from Boyle Heights, California, is dedicated to celebrating diversity and empowerment through storytelling, particularly with her project A La Brava. As she entered the film industry, she quickly realized how underrepresented—and often stereotyped—characters were, especially in genres like superheroes. This realization fueled her mission to promote Latina representation by creating inclusive stories that authentically reflect the real world and uplift the voices that are too often overlooked.

Where Representation Becomes Superpower

Fueled by her passion for equality and representation, Kayden Phoenix created the Latina Superheroes universe—a groundbreaking series of comics featuring bold, authentic Latina protagonists. Her flagship title, A La Brava, introduces the first Latina superhero team in comic book history, marking a significant milestone for Latina representation. She later expanded this universe with Princess Academia, reimagining Latina and Native heroines as powerful, multidimensional princesses.

Beyond these flagships, Kayden continues to push new frontiers with Club Zodiac, Los Caballeros, and Witchtober—original worlds of magic, myth, and adventure.

For mature readers, her Artillery Network line delivers gritty, hard-hitting action with titles like the .357 Magnum Opus trilogy. More than comics, these stories are love letters to culture, identity, and unapologetic representation.

Stories the World Hasn’t Heard- Until Now

Kayden Phoenix’s creative mantra: "A big part of my life’s purpose is to give voice to stories as multifaceted, atypical, and diverse as the people we find in the real world." Every story she writes is rooted in truth, authenticity, and a commitment to showcase the beauty and strength of underrepresented voices—especially in spaces where they’ve long been excluded, championing Latina representation through her work, including her project A La Brava.

The Mission

Kayden Phoenix's mission is to empower marginalized voices across every panel, page, and genre. Whether it’s superhero teams like A La Brava or magical princesses, everyone deserves to see their stories, strength, and spirit showcased, especially with a focus on Latina representation.

Dream Big, Mija

Kayden Phoenix believes that Latina representation is not optional—it's essential. Through every panel, every character, and every story in A La Brava, she reminds us that heroes come from every culture, every background, and every barrio.
