PHOENIX STUDIOS
Kayden Phoenix is a Chicana writer and director from Boyle Heights, California, dedicated to celebrating diversity and empowerment through storytelling. When she entered the film industry, Kayden quickly saw how underrepresented and stereotyped characters were—especially in genre spaces like superheroes. That realization sparked her mission: to champion inclusive stories that reflect the real world and uplift those too often left out.
Kayden’s mission is simple but powerful:
To instill a superhero mindset in every marginalized individual, regardless of age, background, or identity.
She believes everyone has a story worth telling- and she’s here to make sure those stories shine.
Fueled by her passion for equality and representation, Kayden created the Latina Superheroes universe—a groundbreaking comic book series featuring bold, authentic Latina protagonists.
Her flagship title, “A La Brava,” introduces the first Latina superhero team in comic book history.
She also created “Princess Academia,” which reimagines Latina and Native heroines as powerful, multidimensional princesses. These aren’t just comic books—they’re love letters to culture, identity, and unapologetic representation.
Kayden’s creative mantra:
“A big part of my life’s purpose is to give voice to stories as multifaceted, atypical, and diverse as the people we find in the real world.”
Every story she writes is rooted in truth, authenticity, and a commitment to showcase the beauty and strength of underrepresented voices—especially in spaces where they’ve long been excluded.
